An entry for
Nintendo Papercraft's latest
contest, this took about a month from start to finish. It's a papercraft of Valoo, from the Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker.
It was mostly an experiment into hand drawn papercrafts, and the sort of things that I can do... The whole thing was created in Adobe Illustrator and Paint Tool SAI, with the only 3D work being the building. The style was inspired by Chokipeta, but the end result is no where near on par!
Creating the parts themselves was mostly trial and error, drawing out the basic shape and then making builds and adjustments until it was right. After the body was done, some aspects were judged and measured from a build of that.
Once the parts were done, It was just a case of colouring them in using SAI. The colours on the body and neck parts were measured to make sure they aligned properly. There was one mishap on the lower neck, but that should be ironed out in the final version!
